## Short courses for universities

We offer year-round short courses and summer schools in York for groups of students or staff from universities around the world. If you'd like to develop a bespoke short course for your students or staff we'd welcome the opportunity to work with you and discuss your specific requirements.

Our courses are designed to provide participants with an international experience in an increasingly globalised workplace, and encourage further student international mobility.

### Short courses for university students

We've been running successful bespoke short courses for over 15 years. They last from one to 16 weeks and can include the following themes:

- A strong academic theme, such as History, Environmental Science etc.
- English language enhancement
- Intercultural awareness
- Employability and transferable skills
- Management and business skills
- Business English
- English language teacher development
- Academic and research skills
- Business, academic and cultural visits to places of interest
- Issues in culture and society
- Creativity
- Media and communication
- IELTS preparation

### Summer schools for university students

Our summer schools are themed around an academic discipline. They involve lectures and seminars led by leading York academics in the arts and humanities, social sciences, and sciences and technology.

Courses also include in-depth seminars, and practical participation by students, as well as visits to related places of interest for further study. Our teaching team provides academic skills support.
