# Paying the University

## Tuition fees

**We do not accept payments in cash.**

- The easiest way to pay tuition fees is by [direct debit](https://www.york.ac.uk/students/finance/paying/methods/) or online.
- You can pay by direct debit or make one-off UK and international payments via Flywire by logging in to your [e:Vision account](https://srvgate.york.ac.uk/evision).
- You can also make one-off payments using our [Online Payments Service](https://payments.york.ac.uk/student/).

Eligible **international offer holders** can pay tuition fee deposit payments through the Your Student visa section in [You@York](https://www.york.ac.uk/study/you-at-york/), as part of the CAS request form. You will have a choice of payment methods, including debit or credit card or bank transfer with [Flywire](https://www.flywire.com/) (flywire.com).

## University accommodation fees

**We do not accept payments in cash.**

If you are expecting to receive the York Bursary and are in University accommodation, paying by direct debit will ensure that you do not accidentally overpay accommodation fees. For information about receiving your award, see bursaries and scholarships.

**Paying by cheque or direct debit:** Wherever possible please pay online, however, if you do need to pay by cheque or paper direct debit form please send them by the post to:

### Paying on behalf of a student

Parents and relatives can make payments on behalf of a student by:

- setting up a [direct debit](https://www.york.ac.uk/students/finance/paying/methods/) - you'll need to complete a paper direct debit mandate
- using the [Online Payments Service](https://payments.york.ac.uk/student/)
- using the [University Online Store](http://store.york.ac.uk/)
- Only students themselves can make payments using [e:Vision](https://srvgate.york.ac.uk/evision).

We can't disclose information to third parties (including parents and carers) without written consent from the student. This is due to data protection legislation.

## Paying for other student services

- **Official documents, certificates and administration fees**\
  For official documents, resit fees, thesis fees and other administration, you should use the [University Online Store](http://store.york.ac.uk/browse/department.asp?compid=1&modid=1&deptid=116).

- **Library fees**\
  You can pay at the Library Help Desks or self-service machines, by phone on 01904 323838, or via the [University Online Store](http://store.york.ac.uk/browse/department.asp?compid=1&modid=1&deptid=116).

- **University of York Students' Union events and merchandise**\
  For Students' Union event tickets or college/society merchandise, go to the official [York SU website](https://yorksu.org/).
