We aim to widen access to university and in doing so, increase the number of people from under-represented and less advantaged backgrounds at York and in higher education more generally.
We believe that everyone should be afforded the same opportunities and be able to access the education they need to realise their true potential.
Who do we support?
We strive to provide a variety of targeted activities and programmes that support a broad range of people from our high priority backgrounds and areas. Most of our access and outreach programmes require an application and we use an array of criteria to select applicants with the greatest need.

Our programmes and activities are designed with participants' wants and needs at the forefront. The work that we do aims to inspire and educate, leaving participants feeling empowered and confident in making the right choices for them. The feedback we receive from students is reflected in how we refine and improve our programmes.
