This privacy notice is for contacts at external organisations interested in partnering with the University to build collaborative and commercially valuable relationships. This includes individuals who initiate contact with us and those identified by University of York teams carrying out business development and outreach activities.

Where do we get your data from?
Personal data processed under this notice is collected either directly from the contact or organisation they represent (eg via a web form or an event), a referral, or from publicly available sources such as web search or external business databases. - Job title and organisation name
- Department/faculty (if applicable)
- Email address and telephone number

- Areas of interest and potential collaboration opportunities.

We process your data under the legal basis of legitimate interest, specifically to foster collaborative and valuable partnerships that benefit the University’s research, innovation, and knowledge exchange activities. - Respond to your enquiry and explore potential partnerships.
- Keep you informed about relevant initiatives, and funding opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate record of engagement within our Partnerships CRM.
Who do we share your data with?
Your information may be shared within the University of York, and third parties that process data on behalf of the University to support it in fulfilling its obligations and responsibilities to and relationship with you (eg software and system providers). If your organisation engages in a collaboration and/or receives funding, your data will be shared with the partner organisation only as necessary, and you will be notified as such.
