Undergraduate entry requirements

Undergraduate entry requirements for students from Australia

For most programmes, we consider students with ATAR/OP scores of 88 or above, and a Queensland overall position score of 6 or less, depending on the programme you are applying for.

Alternative UK foundation programmes, such as one of our International Study Centre International Foundation courses at Exeter's Streatham Campus, may be considered for entry to undergraduate programmes.

Postgraduate entry requirements for students from Australia

Postgraduate Taught

First Degree 4-year Honours Degree from any Australian higher education institution or 3-year Bachelors Degree
First Above 80% GPA 7.00/7.00
2:1 70–79% GPA 6.00/7.00
2:2 60–69% GPA 5.00/7.00

Postgraduate Research

Applicants for postgraduate research programmes such as PhD or MPhil will need to demonstrate experience of research methodologies, and will normally have completed a Masters degree equivalent with a thesis or dissertation.

Specific English language requirements

Specific English language requirements for students from Australia

Students who have completed their education in Australia will be entitled to a language exemption in line with UKBA guidance, however, if their qualifications have been obtained in another country they will need to supply an evidence of their English Language ability. The integral English language component of the Australian high school exam may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to appropriate University approval.

The University of Exeter has agreements with independent representatives in your country, who would be pleased to tell you more about the University's programmes and assist you in making an application. Most of our representatives offer their services to applicants for free. Those that do charge a fee must make this clear from the outset of their consultation with students and issue appropriate receipts.
