Entry requirements

The information below will allow you to check qualifications from your country or territory to see if they may be accepted for entry to the University of Exeter, and the equivalent grades required. Undergraduate entry requirements

Undergraduate entry requirements for students from Thailand

Students with A levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma or USA curriculum tests can apply for direct entry. A foundation programme is required for students taking Matyom 6 examinations; see our International Study Centre International Foundation courses at Exeter's Streatham Campus.

Alternatively Exeter also accepts the NCUK foundation pathway programmes. NCUK offers foundation pathway in Bangkok. Find their centre here British Academic Center - NCUK.

A-Level AP or SAT (USA curriculum)
A AP 5 Sat subject test 700 in the named subject
B AP 4 Sat subject test 650 in the named subject

Please note: if you are applying for a degree requiring A level Mathematics, a SAT subject test in Maths is not considered equivalent. You will, therefore, need to hold AP Calculus.

Postgraduate entry requirements for students from Thailand

Postgraduate Taught

First Degree 4-year Bachelors Degree from a well-recognised Thai Institution
First 3.5 + GPA A Grade Excellent 76%
2:1 3.0 + GPA B Grade Very Good 70%
2:2 2.6 GPA C+ Grade Good 65%

English Language

Students who have been awarded a degree from one the institutions listed below within the last 7 years, where they have completed their whole degree taught in English, and can provide official evidence of being taught and examined in English (medium of instruction letter or confirmation on their degree certificate), are exempt from requiring an English language test to meet their English language condition.

Postgraduate Research

For PhD study, applicants must typically have studied to at least Masters level with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
