The information below will allow you to check qualifications from your country or territory to see if they may be accepted for entry to the University of Exeter, and the equivalent grades required. Undergraduate entry requirements
### Undergraduate entry requirements for students from Iraq
If you have already completed your A levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma, you will be eligible for direct entry if you meet your chosen programme's entry requirements.
The National High School Diploma is not sufficient for direct entry to our undergraduate programmes. If you hold this, you will be eligible to take a recognised Foundation programme, such as one of our [International Study Centre International Foundation courses](https://www.exeter.ac.uk/study/into/) at Exeter's Streatham Campus.

Postgraduate entry requirements
### Postgraduate entry requirements for students from Iraq
#### Postgraduate Taught
For direct entry onto our Masters programmes you will be required to hold a relevant Bachelors degree with a grade equivalent to a UK Second-class Honours (2:1 or 2:2). Check individual Masters courses for exact entry requirements.
If you are interested in our Finance Masters courses or Management Masters courses but do not quite meet our entry requirements, you may be able to gain entry by first attaining a Graduate Diploma via our [International Study Centre](https://www.exeter.ac.uk/study/into/).
#### Postgraduate Research
For entry onto postgraduate research programmes (including PhD) you will need to hold a relevant Masters degree, supported by a strong research proposal.

## Scholarships and funding opportunities
We are investing over £7m in a range of scholarships to support international and EU students paying international tuition fees, who choose Exeter for their studies in 2026/27.
Our [Exeter Excellence Scholarships](https://www.exeter.ac.uk/study/funding/exeterexcellence/), recognise outstanding academic achievement and support students from around the world to take their place in our vibrant, global community.
For September 2026, these merit-based scholarships are valued at:
- Undergraduate (Bachelors): £3,000 or £5,000 (recurring for each eligible year of study)
- Postgraduate Taught (Masters): £3000, £5,000 or £10,000.
