## Entry requirements
The information below will allow you to check qualifications from your country or territory to see if they may be accepted for entry to the University of Exeter, and the equivalent grades required. Undergraduate entry requirements
### Undergraduate entry requirements for students from Syria
If you have already completed your A levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma, you will be eligible for direct entry if you meet your chosen programme's entry requirements; see the relevant page of our undergraduate courses for details of these.
The General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihiya or Thanawiyah) is not sufficient for direct entry on its own for our undergraduate programmes. If you hold this, you will be eligible to take a recognised Foundation programme, such as one of our [International Study Centre International Foundation courses](https://www.exeter.ac.uk/study/into/) at Exeter's Streatham Campus.

Postgraduate entry requirements
### Postgraduate entry requirements for students from Syria
#### Postgraduate Taught
For direct entry onto our Masters programmes you will be required to hold a relevant Bachelors degree with a grade equivalent to a UK Second-class Honours (2:1 or 2:2). Check individual Masters courses for exact entry requirements.
#### Postgraduate Research
For entry onto postgraduate research programmes (including PhD) you will need to hold a relevant Masters degree, supported by a strong research proposal.

## Agent representatives
The University of Exeter has agreements with independent representatives in your country, who would be pleased to tell you more about the University's programmes and assist you in making an application. Most of our representatives offer their services to applicants for free. Those that do charge a fee must make this clear from the outset of their consultation with students and issue appropriate receipts. ## Scholarships and funding opportunities
We are investing over £7m in a range of scholarships to support international and EU students paying international tuition fees, who choose Exeter for their studies in 2026/27.
Our [Exeter Excellence Scholarships](https://www.exeter.ac.uk/study/funding/exeterexcellence/), recognise outstanding academic achievement and support students from around the world to take their place in our vibrant, global community.
For September 2026, these merit-based scholarships are valued at:
- Undergraduate (Bachelors): £3,000 or £5,000 (recurring for each eligible year of study)
- Postgraduate Taught (Masters): £3000, £5,000 or £10,000.

### Said Foundation Scholarships
The University co-operates with the Said Foundation to offer scholarships to Jordanian, Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian (including Palestinians inside Israel) nationals who are resident in the Foundation’s target countries. The Foundation will consider Syrians residing elsewhere due to current circumstances in this country. The scheme provides full scholarships for taught Masters courses. Candidates must apply directly to the Foundation.
