Student life

We have some of the most satisfied students in the UK - their opinions about the quality of their student experience here have consistently rated us highly for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey.

A location like no other

The University of Exeter has three campuses across the South West; two in Exeter and one in Penryn, Cornwall. Our unique location means we offer world-class education in one of the UK's most beautiful locations, with modern towns, beautiful beaches and stunning countryside right on our doorstep.

Streatham and St Luke’s campuses are in the historic city of Exeter, with plenty of shopping, nightlife and a rich cultural scene. Exeter has good transport links to the rest of the UK and our students love how safe it feels.

Penryn Campus is located near to the seaside town of Falmouth in Cornwall, with a close-knit student community and a laid-back vibe. Its stunning beaches offer opportunities for sports and outdoor activities.

Lucy, studying BSc Sport and Exercise Science

“If I had to give any advice to new students, I’d say – don’t be afraid to get involved straight away, even if it feels a bit intimidating. Say yes to things, even if you’re not sure – that’s how you meet people and find what you enjoy.

Facility-wise, I honestly don’t think you can beat it. The gym is really impressive, especially the Athlete Development Centre which is specifically for performance athletes.”

Dominique, studying BSc Marketing and Management

“I fell in love with the Streatham Campus because of how green it was and the fact that it is so close to the beach - it is definitely in a great location.

My course, BSc Marketing and Management, shares a lot of modules in its first year with students doing other Business School courses, which has been great for meeting loads of different people from all walks of life."

Hugo, studying MSc Conservation and Biodiversity

“Applying to Exeter was a no-brainer because of its global reputation in ecology, and the quality of research published.

Conservation is essential all over the world which is why I love the international approach taken by my course, whether it be learning about the work of the academic staff or going on field courses.”

Stephen, studying MSc Geographical Information Science

"I have been exposed to a wealth of exciting job roles and academic possibilities both during and after the course. The facilities and environment provided at the University of Exeter couldn't have been more conducive to allowing me to successfully navigate my journey back into higher education and provide a wonderful backdrop to the course."

Albina, studying LLB Law with Professional Placement

“I’m originally from Ukraine, so the education system in England has been completely new to me.

One of the things I really enjoy about my course is how it’s structured. We have a lot of interactive lessons like seminars and workshops instead of just lectures every day

The professors are very approachable and always ready to help with questions or learning support. I’ve also found the 1:1 meetings with my academic tutor incredibly helpful for reflecting on my progress and planning my next steps."
