# Standing Attendees at Council

In addition to [Mike Shore-Nye](https://www.exeter.ac.uk/about/governance/managed/executive/registrarandsecretary/) (Senior Vice-President and Registrar & Secretary), who acts as Secretary to Council, there are a number of standing attendees who are normally present for the full duration of Council meetings. Further information is detailed below.

Members of the [University Executive Board](https://www.exeter.ac.uk/about/governance/managed/executive/), or other senior members of the University who are not ex-officio members or standard attendees, may be invited to attend or present major strategic items of business, subject to prior consultation and agreement with the Chair. Additional attendees typically attend only for the item(s) of business for which they are required, unless otherwise agreed by the Chair.

Any person in attendance, other than members of the Council, will not be counted in the quoracy and shall have no right to vote.
