Associate Professor Tamsin Newlove-Delgado

Lead for NIHR Integrated Academic Training at Exeter (ACFs and ACLs)

Tamsin Newlove-Delgado is an Associate Professor with the  Children and Young People’s Mental Health Research Collaboration (ChYMe) and an Honorary Consultant in Public Health Medicine with the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).

Tamsin is the lead for the NIHR Integrated Academic Training programme at Exeter. The IAT programme covers clinical academic training for doctors, including Academic Clinical Fellows and Academic Clinical Lecturers. Georgina Hack is the administrator for the programme. Tamsin is also the Specialty Tutor at Exeter for Public Health registrars on the South West Public Health Training Programme.

Associate Professor Angus Jones

Lead Clinical Academic for the Specialist Foundation Posts at Exeter

Angus Jones is an Associate Professor at the University of Exeter, and an Honorary Consultant Physician at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. He trained in medicine in London and completed his PhD with Professor Andrew Hattersley in Exeter, studying the clinical utility of C-peptide testing in diabetes management.

Angus leads academic Specialist Foundation Programme training at Exeter.

Professor Richard Neal

Lead Clinical Academic for the In-Practice Fellowship Posts at Exeter

Richard Neal is a Professor of Primary Care, interested in all aspects of the interface between cancer and primary care/general practice, in particular, the early detection and diagnosis of cancer. Richard supports GPs interested in clinical academic training and is the contact for the In Practice Fellowship programme.

Professor Angela Shore

Academic co-lead for the GW4 Clinical Academic Training Programme for Health Professionals (GW4-CAT HP)

Angela Shore, Professor of Cardiovascular Sciences, is the Director of the NIHR Exeter Clinical Research Facility for Experimental Medicine and Lead for the NIHR Bioresource Centre Exeter Common Diseases. She is Institution lead for the Wellcome Funded GW4 Clinical Academic Training Programme for Health Professionals (GW4-CAT HP) and a senior advisor to the Clinical Academic Training Programme at Exeter.

Lucy Hodges

BRC Training Manager and Research Inclusion Lead

As Training Manager and Research Inclusion Lead for the BRC, Lucy is responsible for delivering research training and a portfolio of training events across the NIHR Exeter BRC partnerships, as well as supporting other NIHR Exeter infrastructures. She also co-chairs the EDI Working Group for the NIHR Exeter BRC in collaboration with the CRF and works with the PPIE team to develop robust inclusive research practices.

Adilia Warris, Professor of Paediatric Infectious Diseases, is the co-director of the MRC Centre for Medical Mycology and a consultant in paediatric infectious disease in Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. Adilia is the Academic Career Development Lead for the NIHR Exeter BRC and the point of contact for queries surrounding the Centres training programme.
