# The Glanely Food and Farming Scholarship

## About the award

The University of Exeter is pleased to offer this scholarship, a fee reduction worth £5000, to up to five full time students enrolling on our **MA Food Studies programme** in 2026/2027. This scholarship is open to home and international students.

Scholarship recipients will be selected on:

·       Strength of previous achievement in a relevant field, whether academic or practical

·       Potential for exceptional performance on the MA Food Studies course

·       Suitability of the course to supporting the applicant’s career ambitions

This scholarship is intended to support the most promising applicants to the MA Food Studies programme with the cost of their tuition fees, regardless of where they are from. The scholarship is a fixed sum and is intended to make a meaningful contribution to this cost rather than to cover it in full. The funding will be awarded to the candidate/s who can best demonstrate an exceptional track record and future potential for work in this field, and whose career ambitions will be best supported by their participation in the course.

## Entry requirements

This opportunity to open to both Home and International, full time students enrolling on our MA Food Studies programme in 2026/27.

In no more than 500 words please use your covering letter to address the following;

·       Your relevant background in the field of study and how it links to this course

·       Your potential for exceptional performance on the course

·       The suitability of the course in supporting your career ambitions

**The deadline for applications is: 27 March 2026**

Applications will be checked initially to ensure that the eligibility criteria have been met.  Applications will then be considered by a nominated panel.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by email by 8 April 2026.

**Terms & Conditions**

This scholarship will be awarded as a one year tuition fees deduction of £5000. The tuition fees element will be automatically deducted from your tuition fees upon enrolment. If you choose to pay your tuition fees in instalments, the award will be deducted from the total annual tuition fee and the remaining balance split accordingly.

This award is for one year only and is not recurrent for subsequent years of study.\
Applicants whose ability to undertake the programme will be dependent on the outcome of a successful scholarship award can request a deposit deadline extension to the scholarship notification date. To do this, please contact pg-ad@exeter.ac.uk.
