# Drop-in and other 1:1 support from Careers
## Explore your options for drop-ins and appointments.
You can get 1:1 support from Careers
We have a range of 1:1 support options. Use this information to make sure you're getting the help you need.

# What to expect
If you're unsure how career support services work, no need to worry. We've created the following guides to explain what to expect:

# Who will I see
Our career support team consists of:
- Information Team - information specialists who staff our front desk, email and phone line
- Careers Consultants - provide careers advice and counselling
- Applications Advisers - experts in CVs, LinkedIn, cover letters, and applications for jobs or further study
- Employability Coaches - trained students who can provide application and LinkedIn feedback and support our front desk
Our friendly and professional team can help all students and graduates. However, each Careers Consultant covers a Faculty/School and some staff have their own areas of expertise.

# Drop-in support
We offer drop-in support in the [Careers Centre](https://www.bath.ac.uk/locations/careers-centre/) from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, during term time. When you visit the Careers Centre you will speak with our front desk staff. They will either:
- be able to resolve your question immediately
- add you to the drop-in queue to speak to a Careers Consultant, Applications Adviser or Employability Coach
Our Careers Consultants, Applications Advisers and Employability Coaches can help with a variety of career questions. For example:
- career planning and exploration
- CV, LinkedIn and job application feedback
- further study application feedback
- interview preparation
- course change queries
- general career advice
Depending on how busy the drop-in is, you will get around 10-15 minutes with our staff.
# Quiet Hour
Careers Quiet Hour is every Tuesday between 10.30 and 11.30am during term time. Lighting and noise will be kept to a minimum.
If you consider yourself neurodivergent or find noise and busy periods difficult, this is the perfect time to seek help from Careers. No appointment is needed.

# Remote support
If you are away from Bath and cannot attend our drop-in we can still help. Contact Careers on 01225 386009 or [email careers@bath.ac.uk](mailto:%20careers@bath.ac.uk). In most cases we will provide immediate help or we’ll arrange a callback with one of our staff.
# Appointments by referral
Most of our appointments are arranged by referral and bookings are staff mediated. Usually referrals will be made during an initial chat in a drop-in with our Careers Consultants, Applications Advisers or Employability Coaches.
Depending on your needs you might be referred to one of two appointment types:
## CV and Applications Advice appointments
- For feedback on an application form, CV, cover letter, LinkedIn profile or personal statement (employment or further study)\
- 20-minute appointment with an Applications Adviser
- Not available for architecture or design portfolios
## Careers Appointments
- For job search, career options, course change or interview preparation and support
- 20-minute appointment with a Careers Consultant
- **Not used for CV or application feedback**
# Careers Plus appointments for students with disabilities
We offer additional 'Plus' appointments for students with a disability or long-term health condition. These can be booked without a referral.
- For any student or graduate with a disability or long-term health condition, including mental health, long-term chronic illness, physical or sensory, or a specific learning disability such as dyslexia
- Support with informing employers about (disclosing) a disability
- Advice on identifying and requesting reasonable adjustments in the application process
- 20-minute appointment with a Careers Consultant

# Tailored mock interview
If you have an interview coming up. You can request a 30-minute mock interview tailored to that upcoming interview. Your request will be reviewed by a member of Careers staff. They will review our current availability and get back to you.
Tailored mock interviews have limited availability. We are unable to offer a tailored mock interview for every interview you have scheduled. We may impose restrictions on the number of tailored mock interviews you can request.
Please note: We cannot offer mock interviews for technical or case interviews.

# Discretionary Internship Bursary applications
Drop into the Careers Centre if you need to complete the Careers sign-off part of a Discretionary Internship Bursary application. The Careers Consultant on-call will talk through your plans with you before completing this part of the form. We cannot complete forms sent to us via email.
# Eligibility
Our 1:1 services are available to:
- current University of Bath students
- all University of Bath graduates, with no time restriction
Please note: University staff members can only access these services if they are Bath graduates. We do not provide services to students or graduates from other universities.
