## We offer Continuing Professional Development in fluid power, hydraulics, electrical drives and motion control. We can also tailor bespoke courses to your needs.

[New course! Cryogenic Engineering for Sustainable Flight, click for details](https://www.bath.ac.uk/corporate-information/cryo-cryogenic-engineering-for-sustainable-flight/)

We run a range of CPD short courses covering power transmission and motion control with a focus on fluid power systems, electrical drives and control.

Our courses are delivered by experienced staff and researchers at the University of Bath. On-campus courses include our comprehensive course notes, plus:

- classroom tutorials\
- hands-on lab work\
- access to computer facilities and wireless network\
- lunches and refreshments\
- a campus parking permit\

Our standard courses are run in partnership with the Institute for Mechanical Engineering (IMechE). We also run a series of courses on specialised topics and can create bespoke courses for delivery in-person at your or our facilities or online.

Study with us and you will gain a detailed understanding of the course material. You'll apply this theory in experimental laboratory sessions, tutorials, design exercises and computer simulation classes. You'll receive a certificate of attendance for completing the course.

Most of our courses are three-and-a-half days long. All our standard courses are VAT-exempt.

### Bespoke courses

We can tailor courses to your needs and deliver them at your company's premises, on campus or online. Examples include:

- hydraulic modelling and simulation
- hydraulic noise and vibration
- mechatronic systems analysis and design
- control system design
- aircraft hydraulics
- automotive hydraulics
- power steering systems - analysis, modelling and design
- contamination control
- electric drives

In our online courses, you will find all lectures recorded on the University online learning platform to which you will have access about a week before the course. We also conduct live sessions via Microsoft Teams, for questions & answers as well as for tutorials and labs. We post hardcopies of our extensive lecture and lab notes to you ahead of the course.
