Funding a scholarship
You can help the brightest minds fulfil their potential. Explore our full range of scholarships below.
The Gold Scholarship Programme ensures that circumstances are no barrier to receiving an education at Bath, whether that be a low family income, disability or mental health issues.
Gold Scholars receive:
- a £5,000 bursary per academic year (excluding paid placement periods)
- access to skills development sessions
- volunteering opportunities
- pastoral support from our pool of Gold Mentors
Each Gold Scholarship is funded by a gift of £3,000 per year from our donors – supplemented by an additional £2,000 package of support from the University. Gold Scholars can also apply for additional support from the Gold Opportunities Fund.

More people than ever are forced to flee conflict and persecution to find safety and sanctuary.
Our Sanctuary Scholarship provides support to students seeking asylum in the UK, helping to remove barriers that may otherwise prevent them from receiving further education from the University.
The Sanctuary Scholarship consists of:
- a fee waiver covering the full cost of tuition fees
- a bursary up to £18,622 (designed to help with course-related and living costs, and not with wider costs such as legal fees)

Sports scholarships
Sports scholarships alleviate the pressures of competing while studying, helping elite athletes afford equipment, competition travel, entry fees and accommodation.
They also include coaching, strength and conditioning, nutrition, academic flexibility and more.
With this winning combination of support, our sports scholars regularly represent their country in the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.

Arts scholarships
An arts scholarship is a vote of confidence in a young creator at one of the most crucial stages of their development.
Art scholars benefit from pastoral support meetings, a cross-disciplinary network of peers to collaborate with and the chance to perform at our annual showcase event, Platform.

"This scholarship has been an incredible help. As the Paris Olympics drew closer, the pressure was on to ensure I was on top form. The scholarship helps me afford essential training equipment, higher quality food to fuel my body and travel expenses for university and training. It allows me the privilege of not needing a part-time job, which means I have extra time to study.
I am working hard to ensure I am performing to my full potential and this scholarship has facilitated this immeasurably. I am so grateful for this support, without which I wouldn’t have been able to achieve my sporting or academic goals to the same capacity."
