On this page, learn how to share your list using:
- Moodle link – share the entire list – can be used only in award Moodle courses
- Shareable link – share the entire list, section or individual citation – can be used in documents, email, chat, etc. and in all types of Moodle courses
## Moodle link
You can create a link in Moodle to an entire list.
In edit mode, in your Moodle course:
1. Navigate to the section where you want the link to appear and click *+ Add an activity or resource.*
2. Select *External tool* from the list of activities.
3. In *Activity name*, type in the name for the link. For example, 'Reading list'.
4. In the *Preconfigured tool* choose *Leganto link* form the drop-down list.
5. Scroll down and click *Save and return to course*.
Clicking on the link will now open the list in a new tab.
## Shareable link
Link to Leganto from anywhere – a website, chat, email, etc. using the Shareable link method.
1. In Leganto, navigate to the relevant share icon
- To share the entire list, click the share icon at the top of the list.
- To share a section, click the share icon next to the section name.
- To share an individual citation, click the share icon next to that citation.
2. Next, click *Copy shareable link* to list/*section*/*item*.
3. Add the link where required.
## Best practice
- For larger lists – provide section links in the corresponding Moodle sections rather than hyperlinking each resource individually.
- If using shareable links across your Moodle course, we recommend also adding one Moodle link in the top section of the course page. The two links use different authentication methods, so having both in your course will help with access in case one method fails.
