# UNSW Emerging Thought Leader Prize

#### In 2019, UNSW awarded the inaugural Emerging Thought Leader Prize to recognise, encourage and reward our emerging leaders. Those outstanding individuals who demonstrate courageous, creative, and inspiring leadership in the public interest.

#### Associate Professor Adriana Vergés was chosen to be the inaugural winner for her ability to use rigorous science and powerful storytelling to inspire the community, reverse marine extinction, and share this success story globally.

#### Adriana was selected from a shortlist of six incredible finalists. These finalists demonstrate the depth of quality and breadth of diversity in how thought leadership at UNSW is practiced.
