Copyright Act or a licence held by UNSW covers the use.
Below are some of the circumstances when you can use copyright materials in an educational context:
- you or UNSW own the copyright in the material, see Copyright ownership
- you have permission from the copyright owner to use their material
- a licence held by UNSW covers the use of the material
- Educational Statutory Licence covering educational purposes, see Copyright for teaching
- commercial licences for electronic resources, see Library subscribed resources
- music licence for teaching or events, see Copyright for teaching and Events and public performances
- express licences, such as a website terms and conditions
- the copyright has expired, see Duration of copyright
- you are using an insubstantial part of the material, see Information about quotes and extracts
- you use copyright materials for exams, see Copyright for teaching
- assisting people with disabilities, see Disability access
- your use is covered by the flexible dealing (s200AB) exception
- your use of is covered by a fair dealing exception
