UNSW has negotiated a licence with Freeplay Music to allow UNSW staff to use music in their courses, either open or in Moodle.
Who can use Freeplay Music under UNSW's licence:\ UNSW Staff and Student can use all compositions on the Freeplay Music website, except Indie Artists and sound effects catalogue.\ What UNSW staff and students can do under the licence:\ Use for Web Videos, Podcasting, Student Film Festival, Closed Circuit Radio/TV Broadcasts, (and also DVD, but contact UNSW Library about DVDs to obtain information about conditions)\ Where UNSW staff and students can place their work, under the Freeplay Music licence:\ - Web Videos/Podcasting: Worldwide on www.youtube.com, www.unsw.edu.au and UNSW iTunes\ - DVD: Contact UNSW Library for details \ - Radio/TV Broadcasts: Local (on campus only - contact UNSW Library for other permissions)\ Creating a UNSW Freeplay Music account:\ 1. Go to Freeplay Music homepage.\ 2. Then select the Sign Up option on the top right hand corner of the screen, register your account using your UNSW email address. (Please Note: You do not have to enter your credit card details, you can skip this section)\ 3. Once you have completed the initial sign up for your general Freeplay Music account, send your UNSW email address directly to Tyler Davis at tyler@freeplaymusic.com and then instruct and request for 'blanket download access to be permitted' for full access to UNSW download functionality. - Choral Public Domain Library (CPDL) : ChoralWiki
Find free choral/vocal scores, texts, translations, and other information. Useful for more obscure composers and music, also includes librettos in various languages. Generally content may be copied, distributed and performed freely, however terms and conditions of use vary and individual resources should be checked. Music uploaded by musicians for use in your projects. Licences are CC BY, CC BY NC and TuneTrack Commercial. See individual pieces for their licence conditions. - Free Music Archive (FMA)
Music can be searched by genre (e.g. Jazz, Rock, Blues, Electronic, International, Folk, Instrumental, and more), mood, and license types. Terms of use vary - check individual resources for their licence and copyright conditions.
