How does UNSW support my employability?

UNSW empowers student career success with initiatives that boost employability and workplace readiness. Gain practical experience and personalised support during your studies.

Access tailored career services like internships and industry placements that count towards your degree, building skills in leadership, communication, and problem-solving. Enhance your CV through co-curricular and volunteer activities with formal recognition from UNSW Advantage. Participate in peer mentoring programmes to feel supported and connected, regardless of your background.

UNSW Employability

The UNSW Employability team is here to support you in establishing career goals, developing workplace skills and industry connections. They also help you plan for long-term success in a career that sparks your passion.

Through UNSW Employability, you can book one-on-one appointments, attend free seminars, access online resources and more. You can access services throughout your program and up to 18 months after finishing.

If you’re an undergraduate student, you can also take the career-focused elective course: Creating Your Career: Employability for the Future (CDEV1112).

Work Integrated Learning

Many of UNSW’s programs include Work Integrated Learning (WIL). This refers to internships, placements and other forms of workplace learning that can be credited to your degree. Through WIL, you’ll build your professional network, gain essential hands-on experience and valuable insights into your industry’s workplace culture.

UNSW is well-known for its strong industry partnerships, and your WIL experience is a great way to take advantage of this. With a dedicated team based in each faculty, you’ll be supported to find work experience that moves you towards your goals.
