Wiley Open Access Publishing Agreement

Agreement duration: The UNSW agreement is from 1st January 2026 - 31st December 2028, or until the annual publication cap is reached. A previous four-year agreement was in place during 1 January 2022 - 31 December 2025.

Acceptance date:Eligible articles that have an acceptance date during the term of this agreement or up to the annual publication cap are eligible to be published open access under the terms of the agreement.

Summary: Wiley offers journals in the areas of life, health, physical sciences, social sciences, and humanities disciplines. This agreement provides uncapped publishing for Hybrid journals. There is a shared allowance or publication cap of 2,106 articles in 2026 to responsible corresponding authors across all participating institutions for selected Gold Open Access journals. Once the allowance is exhausted for Gold Open Access journals, responsible corresponding authors of any additional articles accepted in 2026 will be responsible for payment of author-facing Article Processing Charges (APCs). Prior to committing to publication, authors should confirm the availability of funding to cover any applicable APCs.

Titles included: 2026 Wiley Read and Publish Title List

Information for authors:UNSW corresponding authors must use their UNSW institutional email address (name@unsw.edu.au) to be eligible under this agreement.  While page and colour charges are not included under the terms of this agreement, as of March 2023, all page and colour fees have been eliminated from Wiley’s fully open access journals

For journal response times between submission and acceptance you should check the specific journal guidelines for accurate information.
