How to request a deferral

If you have a Masters application with us but want to defer for a year, let us know and we will consider your request.

We usually allow you to defer your place once. If you have previously deferred and want to defer again, you should withdraw your place at Sussex and re-apply when you are ready to join us.

Deferring your MBA or MSc in Data Science application

If you’ve applied to study either our Master of Business Administration (MBA) or MSc in Data Science, and want to defer, you’ll need to complete a different form. This is because these two courses have more than one start point, so you need to indicate your preferred start month.
