### Funding partners
The Gazelle Twin Scholarship is funded by donations from University of Sussex Music Department alumni.
Women are currently estimated to make up just 5% of the music technology industry. Research shows that young women drop out of music tech around the age of 16.
The Gazelle Twin Scholarship was created to encourage young female and trans students to pursue a career in this field, starting with a degree from Sussex.
In the [Music Department at Sussex](https://www.sussex.ac.uk/music/), we have a strong focus on equality, diversity and inclusion. We value diverse backgrounds and musical styles. We encurage everyone who matches this scholarship's purpose to apply.
Recipients of the Gazelle twin Scholarship will be asked to help organise a student music event within the School once a year - for example, a concert or an inclusive musical ensemble.
