Why further study?

Further study means progressing from an undergraduate degree on to a postgraduate course such as a Masters or PhD.

Progressing on to further study can help you:

stand out to employers in competitive sectors
gain more relevant skills for your career so you can enter a particular profession
increase your confidence, networking and communication skills
develop your research skills, and become an expert in your field, if you plan to go into academia.

If you don’t want to progress on to a Masters or PhD, but want to sharpen up your skills in a particular area for a specific career, you could take a shorter online course.

You could learn to use specific software, look at a range of business skills (such as project management or SEO), or try something creative. There are many learning platforms out there, so take your time to explore them.
