## Chancellor's International Scholarships (2026)

A limited number of scholarships are available to 'excellent' undergraduate international applicants. These are highly competitive and only applicants with exceptional academic achievement and potential will be considered.
If you have exceptional grades to date, you can apply for a scholarship after you have received an offer to study at the University of Sussex in 2026.

  To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  - Be classified as ‘Overseas’ for fee purposes
  - Have received an offer of a place to study a full time Bachelors degree at Sussex in 2026 this can be conditional)
  - Be self-financing
  - Have excellent academic grades (see 'Qualifications advice' for indication of minimum grades required; this does not include all accepted qualifications and is instead intended as guidance)

  | Bangladesh | 2-3 years of Bachelor’s degree with an overall average of 80% or higher |
  | Canada | Ontario secondary School Diploma with an overall average of 80% from 6 grade 12 4U or 4M courses |
  | China | 1-2 years of Higher Education (IFY or 2+2) with an overall average of 85% or higher |
  | Egypt | General Secondary School Certificate + 2 years of Higher Education with a CGPA of 3.70 or 80% |
  | European Baccalaureate | Overall average of 85% |
  | German Abitur | Abitur 1.6 |
  | Greece | Apolytirion 19.2/20 |
  | Hong Kong | Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) – 5\*5\*5 |
  | India | CBSE/CISCE Standard XII – 90% or higher |
  | International Baccalaureate | 36 points |
  | Kazakhstan | The Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools Grade 12 Certificate with three Advanced Level subjects at A\*A\*A |
  | Nigeria | 1 year of university study with excellent grades |
  | Pakistan | Bachelor (Pass)/Bachelor of Science (Pass) degree with an overall result at 90% in Division I |
  | Saudi Arabia | 2 years of Higher Education with an overall CGPA of 4.0/1st Class |
  | Spain | Titulo de Bachillerato 8.5 overall average |
  | Turkey | Lise Diplomasi/Bitirme with at least 85% in the final year (4.5/5) |
  | USA | High School Graduation Diploma with a GPA of 3.7 + 3 Advanced Placement Tests at 555 |

  You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:

  - Are applying for a Bachelors at a university that is not at the University of Sussex
  - Are a current Sussex student
  - Are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex

  You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are going to study any of the following:

  - Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS)
  - Degrees in Social Work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
  - Courses which include Foundation Year
  - PGCE courses
  - School Direct teaching courses
  - Postgraduate diplomas

### Timetable

All applications will be considered after the closing date and applicants can expect a decision by the end of July.

### Terms and conditions

This scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee in the first year only, no cash equivalent is available.

This scholarship is available for the 2026/27 academic year only, if a scholar defers or temporarily withdraws from their course, they will no longer be eligible to receive the scholarship.

We are aware AI has been used by some applicants to produce statements for their scholarship applications. Please be advised these applications are often unsuccessful. Any personal statement submitted needs to be written by you, to demonstrate your suitability for the scholarship.
