# BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma requirements

For BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma applicants, we require specific Applied Science units depending on the degree you are applying for. Select the degree you are interested in below to find out more.

Alongside the mandatory units you must also have **Applications of Inorganic Chemistry**, **Applications of Organic Chemistry** and **Practical Chemical Analysis**.
In addition to this, you will need at least one of the optional units listed below:
- Physiology of Human Body Systems
- Human Regulation and Reproduction
- Biological Molecules and Metabolic Pathways
- Genetics and Genetic Engineering
- Diseases and Infections
- Microbiology and Microbiological Techniques
- Industrial Chemical Reactions
- Biomedical Science
- [Biomedical Science](#)
