## Stuart Hall Scholarship (2026)

The University of Sussex is delighted to offer the prestigious £5,000 Stuart Hall Scholarship to one student starting at Sussex in September 2026 in the School of Media, Arts and Humanities, focusing on areas of interest to cultural theorist Stuart Hall (1932-2014).

### Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must have accepted an offer of a full time place on a Masters in the [School of Media, Arts and Humanities](https://www.sussex.ac.uk/schools/media-arts-humanities/internal/) to start in September 2026.

You must also have *—* or expect to achieve *—*a First Class Honours or 2:1 degree from a UK university or an equivalent degree from an overseas institution.

### Timetable

The deadline to apply is 1 July 2026. All applicants will recieve a decision by the end of August 2026. The payment will be made in October 2026.

### Terms and conditions

This scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee discount, no cash equivalent is available. This scholarship is available for the 2026/27 academic year only, if a scholar defers or temporarily withdraws from their course, they will no longer be eligible to receive the scholarship.

As this is funded by a philanthropic donation, it is possible to combine this with other University of Sussex scholarships (e.g. Sussex Alumni Scholarship or Country Scholarships).
