Our Open Days are the best way to get a taste of life at Sussex. You’ll learn more about our courses, have the opportunity to chat to current students and meet the academics you’ll be learning from.

Meet us at our Summer Open Day

Join us at our Open Day on Saturday 6 June 2026 to get a glimpse of life and study at Sussex.

Book your place

On-campus Open Days

At an Open Day you can:

Our Open Days run from 9.30am-4.30pm. We will send you a programme of the day’s events in the weeks leading up to the Open Day to help you plan and prioritise the events that interest you the most. Most talks last around 40 minutes and you can join as many on the day as you’d like. You can also get help from our student ambassadors around campus.

Travel options

Our campus is well-connected by public transport, including buses and trains. If you choose to travel to our Open Days by public transport, we’ll plant a tree as part of our sustainability mission.

If you’re driving, you can use parking spaces on campus. Parking is limited and allocated on a first-come first-served basis, so you’ll need to let us know if you need a space when booking your Open Day place. If you’d like to visit Brighton after the event, you can leave your car on campus for the day (vehicles are left the owner’s risk).

Help with travel costs

We want to make sure everyone can visit us at an Open Day and get a taste for life at Sussex.

That’s why we’re offering to help with the cost of travel for you and a guest if you meet our eligibility criteria. Depending on where you live, you can claim between £25 to £75.

See our full terms and conditions and how to claim your travel costs payment.

Choose public transport and we’ll plant a tree

We’re delighted to team up with South Downs Trust on our Your Root to Sussex project to plant a tree for each student who travels to our Open Days in 2026 by public transport.

How to get involved:

We pride ourselves on our mission of becoming one of the most sustainable universities in the world. We’d love you to become part of our story by reducing your carbon emissions and your environmental impact when visiting us at our Open Days in 2026.

Campus accessibility

Open Days can be busy events. We want your visit to be safe and enjoyable, so here is some accessibility information to help you prepare for your visit.

You can also visit the Student Centre and speak with members of the Student Support Unit throughout the day to hear about the information and support available to students.

Disabled parking

When you book your place you can let us know your access requirements, including parking. When you arrive on campus you will need to display your blue badge. You will then be directed to one of our disabled parking spaces, which will be allocated on a first come first served basis on the day.

Making your way around campus

All rooms and lecture theatres used on Open Days have wheelchair access. There are accessible toilets available from all of our locations on-campus.

All of our lecture theatres and rooms have a floor plan with exit routes and assistance points. If you have any questions about the routes you can ask the member of staff and they will be happy to help.

To find out about accessible campus tours, head to the campus tour departure point and a member of staff or student ambassador will be happy to help.

Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome on campus.

Quiet spaces on campus

Our campus has lots of open space where you can get away from the crowds. At every Open Day there will be an allocated quiet room if you need to take some time out. Just check the event programme for details.
