Students with a disability can apply for a £500 bursary and get 1-2-1 supervision with a fitness instructor.
Sussexsport offer up to six bursaries of £500 each year to provide students with a disability access to our fitness rooms and 1-2-1 supervision with a qualified fitness instructor. This is supported by the [Sussex Fund](https://www.sussex.ac.uk/alumni/supportus/sussexfund) and the [University of Sussex Alumni Team](https://www.sussex.ac.uk/alumni/) and via the Disability Support Team. The bursary is there to provide support to individuals whom without that 1:1 support wouldn't be able to use the facilities or the fitness spaces safely.
If you are interested in this support, please contact the Disability Advice Team here: [Disability support : University of Sussex : University of Sussex](https://student.sussex.ac.uk/disability/). **If you are interested in receiving a bursary please make this clear in the comment box on the registration form.**
Once you are registered with the disability support team, you will meet with a member of Sussexsport to discuss your individual needs, requirements and interests. Potential areas of discussion beyond 1:1 support can also include:
- the most appropriate [Sussexsport membership](https://www.sussex.ac.uk/sport/students/memberships) option
- available fitness advice, guidance and support
- casual sporting opportunities, including our drop-in [Active US](https://www.sussex.ac.uk/sport/students/activeus) programme
- our [classes and courses programme](https://www.sussex.ac.uk/sport/students/classescourses)
- club sport options (including outdoor pursuits, martial arts and the British Universities and Colleges Sports [BUCS] offer)
- our [Sports Scholarship Scheme](https://www.sussex.ac.uk/sport/students/scholarships) for talented athletes.
