**Autumn teaching**

On this module, you’ll explore how contemporary businesses interact with society. Business is broadly defined to include public, voluntary, not-for-profit and social enterprise organisations, as well as private sector businesses of all sizes.

Key topics are linked to current events, such as:

- the impact of AI technology on employment
- how social media platforms like Facebook use personal data
- debates around zero-hour contracts and the gig economy.

You’ll consider the ethical questions posed by these activities throughout the module.

Teaching is delivered through interactive lectures and seminars designed to create an inclusive learning environment. Alongside building knowledge, you’ll develop transferable skills such as:

- personal confidence
- teamwork and collaboration
- self-management
- independent learning.
