In addition to the music of Yale composers Charles Ives ‘1898 and Cole Porter ‘1913, and Yale faculty composers Paul Hindemith, Chris Theofanidis, Martin Bresnick, and Han Lash, the Yale Concert Band – Yale’s premier wind ensemble - performs music by a diverse collection of standard and contemporary wind band composers. The Yale Concert Band often reads music composed by its own members and other members of the Yale musical community and programs these pieces. Regular highlights of the Yale Concert Band’s contemporary repertoire are the music of its director, Thomas C. Duffy, and premieres of compositions commissioned by the bands.
Here are some representative recordings of music programmed by the Yale Concert Band – Yale’s premiere wind ensemble.
