SynBiofoundry@TUM – the Biofoundry of the TUM Campus Straubing – offers a high throughput technology platform to develop and optimize biotechnological production processes for academia and industry.

To achieve this we integrate bioinformatics and machine learning approaches and conduct tailored enzyme engineering and systems metabolic engineering strategies. This eventually yields streamlined biocatalysis and microbial production processes. Moreover, we expand the classical design-build-test-learn cycle of synthetic biology and offer life cycle assessments of planned projects, support for entrepreneurial ideas and scale-up of developed bioprocesses.
