The StudentCard is your TUM student ID in the form of a multifunctional chip card or as a digital StudentCard, which can be downloaded in the TUM app. Students of the former TUM School of Medicine at the TUM University Hospital receive the [MediCard](#c68177).

### I am enrolling at TUM for the first time – how do I get my StudentCard?

**Physical StudentCard**

*Students at the Munich, Garching, and Weihenstephan campuses:*

- Your StudentCard will be sent to you automatically after successful enrollment **if you have entered a German correspondence address in TUMonline**. A personal pick-up is currently not possible.
- **Please note**: If you have already been enrolled for more than one month but have not yet received a StudentCard, please [contact the student information by e-mail](#) with the exact subject “Neuausstellung StudentCard”. Please state your TUM student number.\
The status information in the “my TUM-Card” application in TUMonline is unfortunately not displayed correctly, you can ignore it.

*Students at the Straubing, Heilbronn, and Singapore campuses:*

- Starting in the summer semester of 2026, newly enrolled students in Straubing as well as all students in Heilbronn and Singapore will receive only the digital StudentCard in the TUM Campus App as part of a pilot phase. Information on how to obtain it can be found below. If you require an analog alternative, for example, because you do not have a smartphone, please [contact the student information by e-mail](#) with the exact subject “Analoge StudentCard”. Please state your TUM student number. \
Students in Straubing who already possess a physical StudentCard can continue to use and validate it as before.

*Special cases*

- If you are enrolled in a **joint degree program** (e.g. Bioinformatics, Theoretical Physics), please [contact the student information by e-mail](#) with the exact subject “Neuausstellung StudentCard”. Please state your TUM student number.
- If you are enrolled in medical studies (pre-clinical work) at LMU and want to receive a StudentCard, please [contact the student information by e-mail](#) with the exact subject “Vorklinik”. Please state your TUM student number.
- If you are enrolled as a **guest auditor**, you are not eligible for a StudentCard.

 **Digital StudentCard**

The TUM Campus App works on all common smartphones and can be downloaded here:

- **Android:** [TUM Campus App on Google Play Store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.tum.in.tumcampus)
- **iOS:** [TUM Campus App on the App Store](https://apps.apple.com/de/app/tum-campus-app/id1557123392)

After signing in with a TUM ID, you can find the digital StudentCard at the top right under the card icon. It is available from the first day of the semester in which you are enrolled.

### I was already enrolled at TUM and had a StudentCard – what do I need to do?

**Do you still have your old StudentCard?**

If you change your degree program or re-enroll at TUM, a new StudentCard will not be printed automatically. Your previous StudentCard can simply be reactivated at any validation station.

The current degree program and the new period of validity will be printed on the card.

Students at the Heilbronn campus will have access only to the digital StudentCard starting in the summer semester of 2026.

**Do you no longer have your old StudentCard?**

If you no longer have your old StudentCard or if it is defective, please [contact the student information by e-mail](https://www.tum.de/en/studies/application/enrollment-info-portal/student-card) with the exact subject “Neuausstellung StudentCard”. Please state your TUM student number.

If you need a new photo for the StudentCard, please send it as an attached jpg image file.
