**Research**

In my thesis I am working on the optimization of enzymes to be used in cell-free cascades for the sustainable production of fine chemicals. In the optimization of enzymes, (semi-)rational design or directed evolution is combined with high-throughput methods such as microfluidics to cover a variety of enzyme candidates.
