The faculty coordinates study and teaching within the Integrative Research Institute TUMCS. The Faculty of Studies is headed by the Dean of Studies. The Dean is responsible for ensuring that the study programmes at the TUMCS are coordinated and can be studied in accordance with the relevant examination and study regulations.

The Dean of Studies also ensures the quality of teaching by means of evaluation, regular teaching reports and the examination of pedagogical and didactic suitability in the selection and awarding of teaching assignments and appointments. Together with the Faculty Council, of which it is chairman, it advises on all matters of fundamental importance in the field of study and teaching of the study programmes belonging to the faculty and submits appropriate proposals to the relevant committees.

The Dean of Studies also chairs the examination boards of the study programmes at the TUMCS and the Study Grants Commission. Applications to the Examination Board and the Study Grants Commission are submitted via the Department of the Faculty of Studies.
