How much will my studies cost? How do I get financial support? Information on Semester Fees at TUM and tips on financing your studies can be found here.
The semester fees must be transferred in time for each semester in which you wish to begin or continue your studies. Please click on the location of your degree program below and read all the information carefully before transferring.
Amount of Semester Fees
The amount of the semester fee depends on which campus the degree program is located.
In the summer semester 2026, the semester fee amounts to
- 97.00 Euro in Munich, Garching and Weihenstephan
- 82.00 Euro in Straubing
- 97.00 Euro in Heilbronn
Additional fees apply for some continuing education courses. Information on this can be found at the respective school.
You can also view the amount of your semester fee directly on TUMonline. The fees and to be paid will be displayed from the end of May (for the winter semester) or from the end of November (for the summer semester).

Payment deadlines
- The payment deadline for first-time enrollment for the summer semester is March 15, for the winter semester September 15.
- The payment deadline for re-enrollment for the summer semester is February 15, for the winter semester August 15.
Please note: Payment must be registered in your TUMonline account by the enrollment deadline at the latest. However, we strongly recommend that you make the transfer before the start of the semester, as enrollment can only take place after payment has been received. Only then will you be able to register for courses or purchase the discounted Deutschlandticket, for example.

Your transfer will appear in your TUMonline contribution account within approximately 5 business days. Please do not contact us until your payment has not posted for at least one week.
If you have missed the payment deadline, please pay the fee immediately.

Please note:
- Please make sure to indicate TUM’s IBAN provided here when making the payment to the Staatsoberkasse, not the IBAN of the Staatsoberkasse itself! Otherwise, there may be significant delays in processing your payment.
- Make sure that your correct matriculation number is entered as the very first information in the purpose of payment, so that your payment can be correctly allocated
- For payments from outside the SEPA area, please check with your bank if bank charges apply. Please indicate that all bank charges are to be paid by the remitter, including charges from intermediary institutions. To do this, please inform your bank to select ‘OUR’ for the details of charges.
- Please check after five business days to see if your payment has been received in your dues account. If after five business days your transfer is not or not fully reflected in your TUMonline account, please send us a copy of remittance voucher from your bank to beitragsmanagement@zv.tum.de.
