# The first 2026 paper in Adv. Mater!

In collaboration with Prof. Blombach we have rationalized genetic and material engineering tools toward highly emissive and stable V. natriegens-silicone color filters for the first red-emitting bacteria-hybrid light-emitting diodes. This works pinpoints V. natriegens as a high-performance protein production platform to advance bacteria optoelectronics, in general, and bacteria photon down-conversion filters for lighting, in particular.
