#### Welcome to the Professorship of Particle and Fiber Technology!

##### The Professorship of Particle and Fiber Technology for Bio-based Materials was founded in September 2024 under Prof. Dr. Wenwen Fang.

Our group focuses on the development of **green, sustainable processes to convert biopolymers** (e.g. cellulose and proteins) extracted **from renewable feedstocks into high performance fibers and functional materials**.\
By controlling molecular interactions through chemical and physical techniques, such as **surface modifications, mechanical alignment and laser irradiation**, we aim to tailor the structural and mechanical properties of bio-based materials, pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with biopolymers.\
