**Research**

My research is focused on the optimization of cell-free multi-enzyme cascades for the production of biofuels from renewable feedstocks and green methanol. To render such one-pot conversions industrially applicable, we aim for enhanced productivity and robustness of these biocatalytic processes. In particular, enzyme engineering strategies are used to improve the proficiency of various bottleneck enzymes towards increased activity, solvent tolerance, and thermostability.
