Our team aims to measure attitudes and behavior that are key drivers for understanding the social transition towards the bioeconomy and to identify the mechanisms causing the large variation in attitudes and behavior across regions and countries. In doing so, we provide new insights into individual and social decision making that are relevant for a successful implementation of long-term policy strategies related to the bioeconomy. To address our research questions we apply quantitative research methods and combine various datasets such as macroeconomic indicators, micro-level data (e.g., surveys), and geographic information systems (GIS) data.
