Due to the scope and nature of the Roman de la Rose Digital Library project, this site remains under construction. Despite our best efforts, we cannot guarantee that all content is accurate or complete, and we ask that you contact us as indicated below if you find an error. Please note that not all manuscripts have transcriptions and/or a codicological description as of today. Many of the transcriptions included here have not been checked for accuracy. This information will be added as it becomes available and you are encouraged to check back as necessary.
Please be aware that new folio numbers have been attributed to manuscripts with known errors of foliation.

Conditions for use of this Digital Library
The site in its entirety is copyrighted by The Johns Hopkins University while the rights to the individual manuscripts and images of them are retained by the owning library. The images may be viewed without payment or further permission on the understanding that they have been made available for the purposes of scholarly or private study only. Any other use of these images requires the specific written permission from copyright holders who reserve the right to charge a fee. Uses requiring such permission include, but are not limited to:
