With more than 7.3 million items in a variety of physical, digital, and electronic formats, the Sheridan Libraries provide the major library research resources for Johns Hopkins University.

The system includes the Milton S. Eisenhower Library, Brody Learning Commons, and Albert D. Hutzler Reading Room on the Homewood campus, the John Work Garrett Library at Evergreen Museum & Library, the George Peabody Library on the Peabody campus, and the Irene and Richard Frary Library at JHU Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C.

Milton S. Eisenhower Library

MSE Library is the university’s principal research library and the largest in the Sheridan Libraries network. The library opened in 1964 and is one of the most heavily used buildings on Homewood campus.

Brody Learning Commons

Brody connects to the Eisenhower Library and includes a large quiet reading room, 16 group study rooms, teaching and seminar rooms, and a café.

Our newest library in the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C. supports teaching, research, and public engagement in the nation's capital.

The Hut in Gilman Hall features a high ceiling and 19 beautiful stained-glass windows illustrated with the marks of Renaissance printers.

John Work Garrett Library

The Garrett Library is located in Evergreen Museum & Library and is home to nearly 30,000 rare books. The collection can be used by appointment

George Peabody Library

The Peabody Library in Mount Vernon is a special collections library containing more than 300,000 volumes. The collection is non-circulating, and the library is open to the public.
