The schools of Arts and Sciences, and Engineering recognize and appreciate the contributions of volunteers and visiting graduate students to its mission of education and research and has policies in place to enable both schools to retain and set forth requirements pertaining to volunteers and visiting graduate students.

Funding, Financial Aid, and Student Loans

Graduate students should contact their department(s) for information concerning funding support availability.  Information for the Whiting School is located at https://engineering.jhu.edu/graduate-studies/graduate-financial-aid/. Students who are seeking federal financial aid are required to fill out a new FAFSA form for each year of financial aid. WSE-Specific Graduate Fellowship Information

The Whiting School of Engineering offers a number of endowed fellowships that provide supplemental financial aid to incoming and current full-time engineering students. Veterans Educational Benefits

Veterans Education Benefits

Johns Hopkins University is approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission for the training of veterans, service members, eligible spouses and dependents pursuing an approved degree or certificate program. Enrollment certifications are submitted to the VA under the provisions of federal and state laws pertaining to veterans' educational benefits.

Johns Hopkins University fully complies with Section 103.1.(b) of the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018, which ensures that JHU will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or the requirement to borrow additional funds, on any covered individual when the individual’s inability to meet their financial obligations to the institution is due to the delayed disbursement of Chapter 31 or Chapter 33 funding from the VA. Johns Hopkins University participates in the Principles of Excellence standards.

Standards of Progress

Entitlement to VA benefits for an approved program of education is subject to the requirement that the student, having commenced the pursuit of such program, continues to maintain satisfactory academic progress, conduct, and attendance.
