Italian Minor Requirements

The minor requires completion of language courses through Advanced Italian I and II ( Advanced Italian I- Advanced Italian II), and two additional courses.  A minimum of 12 credits counting toward the minor must be taken at the 300 or 400 level. At least nine credits of the minor must be taken at JHU on the Homewood campus and that must include at least one course with either a POS Tag of MLL-PITAL or MLL-MITAL. All minor requirements must be completed with a grade of C- or better and may not be taken satisfactory/unsatisfactory.

These requirements pertain to students declaring an Italian Minor in Fall 2024 or beyond. \ Option 1

1 : Italian Elements I and II and Intermediate I and II may be waived through appropriate proctored placement exam scores. Please note that the Italian placement exam does not grant credits; however, it can waive minor requirements.

2 : Students placing out of Advanced Italian I and/or II will have to take an equivalent number of credits at the 300 or 400 level. These courses need to have the following numbers and tags: 211.3xx-4xx with POS TAG MLL-ITAL, MLL-MITAL or MLL-PITAL, or 214.3xx-4xx.
