Tuition Support Offered to Hopkins Employees
Tuition Support for Employees: Full-time faculty, staff, and bargaining unit members may be eligible to receive tuition assistance for degree and non-degree courses at accredited institutions. JHU also supports non-credit and staff development courses, including CME-required education.
Tuition Support for Dependent Children: Eligible employees can receive up to 50% of JHU’s first-year undergraduate tuition toward their child’s full-time undergraduate studies at accredited institutions. Part-time JHU credit courses and discounted non-credit enrichment classes are also available.
Tuition Support Offered by Another Organization/Institution
Hopkins students who wish to use a tuition benefit provided by their employer—or their parent’s employer—should contact the employer’s human resources department to confirm eligibility and obtain application instructions. Students are required to report any tuition benefits received to Student Financial Support.
How Tuition Benefits Impact Your Financial Aid
All students who receive tuition benefits and whose need was fully met in the original financial aid offer will have the amount of their Johns Hopkins University-funded scholarship reduced by the full amount of the tuition benefits.
Example 1: John is receiving $40,000 in need-based scholarship from Johns Hopkins. He is also receiving $20,000 in tuition benefits. As such, the Hopkins scholarship is reduced by $20,000. The total amount of financial aid remains the same.
Example 2: Jane is not receiving any need-based scholarship from Johns Hopkins. She is receiving $20,000 in tuition benefits. She can apply the full $20,000 in tuition benefits towards the total cost of attendance.
