Nico joined the German Department in Fall 2024. Prior to coming to Princeton he studied German literature and philosophy at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (B.A. and M.A.), Universität Wien and Cornell University, where he was Humboldt Exchange Fellow during the academic year 2022/23.

At Princeton, he plans to further investigate the historicity of aesthetic sensibilities for “nature”, different poetics thereof, and theories of (literary) mimesis and referentiality. Additionally, he has interests in historical knowledge poetologies of psychology and psychoanalysis as well as in architecture and literature, especially from the first half of the 20th century.
