Jonah joined the German Department in Fall 2023. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago in 2022, where he received degrees in Fundamentals (Issues and Texts) and Germanic Studies. While in Chicago, he worked in a rare book archive, as a research assistant in the Germanic Studies Department, and as a manuscript editor for Critical Inquiry. His interests center around aesthetics & poetics from the eighteenth century to the present. Broadly speaking, he looks forward to researching romantic and modernist German literature and art, as well as exploring methodologies of media studies and continental aesthetics.
