Zeytun joined the German department in Fall 2022. She graduated summa cum laude from Princeton undergrad, concentrating in East Asian Studies with a certificate in German. Her senior thesis, “Islam and Kpop in Turkey: The Pious Generation and the Heathen’s music,” dealt with the reception and consumption of Kpop among Islamist circles in Turkey, and was awarded both the Near Eastern Studies Program Prize and an honorable mention for the Marjory Chadwick Buchanan Senior Thesis Prize. As a graduate student, Zeytun is interested in taking a comparative approach to the study of German literature and art, and she looks forward to expanding her interests during her time here.
