Yuri is a German major in the class of 2027 from Guangzhou, China. She is also pursuing minors in History of Science, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and East Asian Studies. An enthusiast for working comparatively and across linguistic regimes, she speaks Mandarin, Korean, English, German, and learning new languages is a hobby of hers. Her academic interests lie primarily in Media Theory, Cultural Theory & Techniques, History of Science, and Aesthetics & Politics. At the moment, she is especially interested in theories against anthropocentrism, notions of the body, questions of language in China and Korea’s modernization, translation theories, and many more that challenge her intellectually.

On campus, Yuri sings Alto in the Glee Club, dances with KoKo Pop Dance Company, oversees Mandarin and German translation projects at the Princeton University Language Project, and works at the Information Desk of Firestone Library. In her free time, she enjoys time with her cats and puppy, learning new languages, photography, traveling, trying to learn ballet, and reading while sitting on her favorite couch right outside the department lounge.
