# Berlind Theatre ---

The Roger S. Berlind ’52 Theatre is part of the McCarter Theatre Center complex located on the Princeton campus. The Lewis Center and McCarter Theatre, which operates as a separate nonprofit, share the Berlind Theatre.

McCarter, a Tony Award-winning regional theater, produces a season of professional theater productions and presents numerous music, dance, and other events each year.

The Berlind Theatre is the venue for a number of Program in Dance and Program in Theater and Music Theater productions each academic year. This 360-seat performance space includes professional lighting and sound systems and a large stage with fly space. [View a seating chart of the Berlind Theatre](https://www.mccarter.org/venues)

McCarter Theatre Center also includes the 1,000-seat Matthews Theatre for larger performances and events, along with a cafe and concession areas in both theaters, rehearsal spaces, ancillary production spaces, dressing rooms, and administrative offices.\

## How do I get to the Berlind Theatre?

The Berlind Theatre at McCarter Theatre Center is located at 91 University Place, across from the NJ Transit Princeton Station and the Lewis Arts complex, the metered transit parking lot, and the Theater Drive Garage. The Garage is open and free to the public evenings and weekends with accessible spaces on each level, served by an elevator. Parking is also available at meters on University Place and Alexander Street, including disability-designated spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis for vehicles with handicapped placards and/or license plates.

## Accessibility

The Princeton Accessibility Guides provide detailed access information for campus buildings.

### [Review the Berlind Theatre access guide](https://www.accessableusa.com/princeton-university/access-guides/berlind-theatre)

A ramp from street level is available outside the entrance to the Berlind Theatre (off University Place). A button is available for the automatic doors into the lower lobby. Once inside the lobby, the ticket counter to your right is at table height and accessible restrooms are available to the right, past the ticket counter. Stairs lead up to the theater seating areas, however an elevator is available to your left upon entering the lobby inside an alcove. The 2nd level takes you to the upper Berlind lobby/concessions and the lower seating rows (A, B, C, etc.) where wheelchair and companion seating is available (request these spaces for ticketed events with reserved seating). The 3rd level takes you to upper seating rows. Restrooms are only available on the lower lobby level.

Assistive listening device headsets are available from house staff or ushers.

### Berlind Rehearsal Room

A ramp from street level is available outside the entrance to the Berlind Theatre (off University Place). A button is available for the automatic doors into the lower lobby.
